Thunderbird (Windows): Import/Export Mailbox

Export

1. Note that Mozilla Thunderbird remains closed during the export.

On your keyboard select (at the same time) the "Windows key" and "r". A "Run" command will appear in the window.
At the "Open” command, note: %AppData% and then click "OK".

2. Open the "Thunderbird" folder.

3. You are now in the "AppData -> Roaming -> Thunderbird" path. Now open the "Profiles" folder.

4. The next folder always has a different name. This means your display will differ from the next screensho

5. Now copy the folder with "Ctrl + c" or click on the folder using the "right mouse button". Select "Copy" from the list.

6. Create a backup folder so that you can store the profile (files in the cache).
Now add the files (in the cache) to the backup folder. To do this, click on the keyboard "Ctrl + v" or again with the right mouse button and then "Paste".

After you have saved the profile, we recommend removing the existing profile.

The export of the mailbox or the data is now complete.

Import

1. 1. Now open the backup folder using the saved profile again. Now copy this again with the key combination "Ctrl + c" or via right-click and "Copy".

2.  Again, on your keyboard select(at the same time) the "Windows key" and "r". A "Run" command will appear in the window. At the "Open” command, note: %AppData% and then click "OK".

3. Now navigate to Thunderbird again and then to Profiles (analogous to the export).

Now add the profile (in the clipboard) with the key combination "Ctrl + v" or use the right mouse button and paste.

This completes the export process. You can now open Mozilla Thunderbird again.
