Setup IMAP Account on iOS Device (Web- & Mail Hosting)

In this guide, you will learn how to set up your IMAP mail account on your iOS device (iPhone or iPad).

How to Proceed

Step 1: Go to Accounts

To add the IMAP email account, navigate to your settings app. Then select the Accounts section.

Step 2: Add New Account

To set up an email account with the type IMAP, select the last item Other from the list.

Step 3: Add New Email Account

Select Add mail account in the next step.

Step 4: Enter User Credentials

Type in your name, email address and password. The description will be set automatically. However, you can customise it as you wish.

Step 5: Setup Incoming & Outgoing Servers

Enter the server data for the incoming mail server and for the outgoing mail server.

Incoming Mail Server:

Host Name:  imap.servicehoster.ch
User Name: Your Email Address
Password: Your Password for the Email Address

Outgoing Mail Server:

Host Name:  smtp.servicehoster.ch
User Name: Your Email Address
Password: Your Password for the Email Address

Step 6: Save Settings

You can then specify which items from your IMAP mailbox you want to use on your iOS device.

To save, select Save in the top right-hand corner.

You will now see the newly created mailbox in the overview of your accounts on the iOS device.
