Green wins again

We are pleased to announce that Green has won the prestigious Data Cloud Global Award for the “Best Data Center Waste Heat Recovery Project”. The award ceremony took place in Cannes and recognizes outstanding achievements in the technology and data center industry. A year ago, our Metro Campus in Dielsdorf was named the best new data center project in Europe at the DCS Awards in London. These awards are a significant achievement for our company and a testament to our innovation and commitment to pioneering solutions.

Interview with our Board Member, Ashley Davis and our CMO Marietta Hersche

Dear Ashley, you have been supporting and advising Green for several years on strategic topcics and the company's growth strategy. What does this success mean for Green, and how will it influence our company's position in the industry?

Winning the Data Cloud Global Award for the best project for waste heat utilisation in data centers is not just a milestone, but a testament to Green's reputation as a leader in sustainable innovation. This recognition strengthens our position in the industry and motivates us to continue focusing on environmentally friendly technologies. The award we received in London for the best data center project further underscores our ability to develop future-oriented and efficient solutions, enhancing our credibility in the industry.

A meticulously planned data center has a positive impact on the sustainability balance, on cost efficiency and operational excellence. We are leaders in all three areas.

Ashley Davis, Member of the Board of Green

How important are sustainable practices like waste heat utilisation for the future of data centers?

Waste heat utilisation exemplifies the principles of the circular economy, where resources are used more efficiently and waste is minimised. By repurposing the heat generated during the cooling of data centers, we significantly reduce energy consumption and ecological impact. All three data centers on our Metro Campus in Dielsdorf will be connected to the heating network, allowing us to use the waste heat from these facilities to heat 11,500 households and provide process heat to local industries.

Our commitment to sustainable practices, such as waste heat utilisation, not only benefits the environment but also enhances our competitiveness through cost savings and an improved sustainability profile. By integrating circular economy concepts, we are creating a more resilient and resource-efficient infrastructure for the future, a future that we are confident will be brighter and more sustainable.

What role does design play in the development of modern data centers, and how does it contribute to our success?

Design plays a crucial role in the development of modern data centers. It goes beyond constructing efficient and high-performing facilities; it also involves creating an environment that inspires and supports both employees and customers. Thoughtful design enhances operational efficiency, simplifies maintenance, and boosts safety. Winning the award for best design demonstrates Green's capability to create innovative and attractive solutions that meet the highest standards and delight our customers. Additionally, our commitment to customer orientation ensures that our designs are tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of our clients. Moreover, a well-designed data center directly impacts operating costs, service availability, and the company's ability to adapt to changes and new requirements. Therefore, a meticulously planned data center is a crucial element of any company's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, reliability, security, and flexibility.
